McIlroy Rolls To Victory

10/09/2012

Rory McIlroy, fresh off two wins in the previous three weeks, added another victory to his 2012 total by winning the BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.

Like the previous week, McIlroy (FJ SPORT and Pure Touch Limited)  came from from behind to claim the title, shooting a 5-under par 67 in Sunday’s final round to win by two strokes over fellow FJ Staffer Lee Westwood.  McIlroy's final 27 holes of the tournament included nine birdies and a lone bogey.

“I’m just on a great run at the moment...I’m playing well, I’m confident – just hope to keep it going.” McIlroy stated post victory.

Rory retains the top spot in the FedEx Cup rankings and this is Rory's fourth victory of the PGA Tour season.

Rory Wins Again at TPC Boston

4/09/2012

World number one and reigning PGA Champion Rory McIlroy added another victory to his 2012 total at the Deutsche Bank Championship. The second-leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs was held right up the road from the Acushnet Company headquarters at TPC Boston.

The Ulsterman shot rounds of 65, 65, and 67 over the first three days of competition to sit three behind the 54-hole leader Oosthuizen. The former Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen had gained the lead over McIlroy thanks to a third round 63 that shot him up the leaderboard.

The two were paired together for the final round. McIlroy, in FJ Sport and Pure Touch Limited, struck first and birdied 3 of his first four holes, trumping Oosthuizen's lone birdie in the same stretch.  McIlroy added birdies at six and eight to take control of the tournament.  Louis, in DryJoys Tour Boa and a newly redesigned SciFlex, fought back with two late back-nine birdies to get within one stroke of McIlroy.  Both players exchanged pars on the final hole to give Rory McIlroy the victory.

Rory knows there is still much work to be done to win the Fedex Cup stating, “It’s good to get a victory in these playoffs. It sets me up in a good position for the next two weeks.”

McIlroy moves to number one in the Fedex Cup playoffs.
